I Love Craft Beer – Should I Go to the Summit?
Thinking about grabbing a one-day pass to the Summit? Maybe you don’t brew beer, homebrew beer or work in the industry, you just LOVE craft beer. What’s there for you?
Let’s walk you through what your day would look like on Friday, September 8 …
- 9 a.m. take a sensory workshop on hop flavors and aromas and start distinguishing between different hops in your favorite (or least favorite) beers.
- 10 a.m. take a tasting tour through the four main styles of beers and their California equivalents. Learn history and tasting notes along the way!
- 11 a.m. grab a coffee and walk down to check out the 60,000 square foot expo hall floor. Expect lines of exhibit booths but instead walk in to find hanging hop displays, regional beer tasting booths, hands-on labs and a large Culinary Marketplace to satisfy your beer and food longings.
- 12 p.m. don’t miss the “Beers with Brunch” demo for a stout and deviled egg pairing.
- 1:30 m. wander over to a TapTalk stage to meet Charlie Papazian and get inspired by the original homebrewer and author of “The Complete Joy of Homebrewing.”
- 2 p.m. check out the beer stations from every region of California – spend more time than you should in San Diego or Los Angeles
- 2:45 p.m. meet Ken Grossman, founder and owner of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and remember all the great memories you’ve had with their beer in your hand
- 3:15 p.m. spend some time in the Culinary Marketplace checking out bites from Mother Sacramento or the Sacramento Food Co-op and pair their food with some of the best beers from across California.
- 4:15 p.m. join Bike Dog and the chef from Sacramento’s The Grange for a “Putting India in IPA” demo at the Chef demo stage
