Steven’s culinary influences are rooted in his birthplace of Louisiana as well as California, his home since 1984. During his four decades of restaurant/bar experience, Steven learned about, and assisted in, the beer brewing process, attended culinary school and played an integral role in launching many bars and restaurants. In 1995, Steve opened the acclaimed Café Boogaloo in Hermosa Beach, California serving Southern food, craft brews and blues music. Steve’s dream to brew beer was realized in 2015 when HopSaint Brewing Company (and locally sourced restaurant) opened its doors to an admiring public, and subsequently, award winning beers in collaboration with brewmaster Brian Brewer.
