New Craft Brewery Opens in Agoura Hills
With the installation of Ladyface Ale Company’s’ brewing system, the sweet smell of barley mash has come to Agoura Hills. Brew Master David Grifffiths was hard at work a few days after the large brewing kettles arrived in early December. “Our patrons are now enjoying the first beers ever brewed in the Conejo Valley!” exclaimed the normally laid back Griffiths.
The brewpub’s name comes from the adjacent Ladyface Mountain overlooking Agoura Hills. The only micro-brewery between Hollywood and Ventura, Ladyface Alehouse is a unique concept marrying an old world brasserie-style restaurant with a brewery producing Belgian as well as American-style craft beers. “Dave has developed quite a following over the years in the brewing community. Our core idea was to pair his fantastic ales with great dishes from Chef Ray Luna of Patina fame,” said the lady behind Ladyface, General Manager Cyrena Nouzille.
The restaurant features French and Belgian classics such as flavored fries, onion soup, and steamed mussels, as well as an already famous wood-grilled burger on a pretzel bun. “You cannot be near LA without a great burger on your menu”, added Luna, a fan of local purveyors and farmers.
The bar features up to 20 beers on tap including a careful selection of eclectic award-winning American and Belgian ales to complement Ladyface’s own. The cellar contains more guest beers as well as wines from France and California.
