SeaWorld no longer “Bud Town”
Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev announced that it will sell its theme parks business to private-equity firm Blackstone Group for up to $2.7 billion, including SeaWorld in San Diego.
The San Diego SeaWorld has been owned by the AB subsidiary Busch Entertainment Corporation, which operates 10 entertainment parks in the U.S., including three SeaWorld parks. The park has always been a good-beer desert, selling only AB products only. Does that mean we will soon see craft beer sold at the venue!! Now that is an exciting prospect indeed.
The deal will help AB InBev pay down the $45 billion in debt it took on to buy Anheuser Busch last year. It has been long rumored that AB InBev wanted to sell the theme parks.
