Alyssa Pereira is a San Francisco-based journalist and editor for SFGate as well as a contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle’s coverage of Northern California beer. She’s also a writer and podcast host for Good Beer Hunting, and a Certified Beer Server. Before working with beer, she completed her masters in Performance Studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, focusing on digital culture, resistance, and the sensorial. But these days, after hours, you can catch her often at her neighborhood bar — Toronado — debating all things prestige TV, Marvel, her cat, and Bay Area beer.
