Starting out in admin at an accounting firm in downtown San Diego, Jen quickly found herself underutilized and needing to do more. She took some business classes and was soon doing tax prep, human resources, and management. After a number of years in the accounting industry, Jen was stagnant, burned out and bored. The craft beer world was really taking off in San Diego and over the years Jen had discovered an appreciation (code for her fridge is now always full of craft beer) for quality local brews. Who wouldn’t? After learning about SDSU’s Business of Craft Beer Certificate Program, Jen signed up and received her Level I Certificate within a year. The knowledge learned there allowed Jen to move into her current management position at Mikkeller Brewing San Diego where she wears many hats every day making monotony non-existent.
