The End of an Era
For over eight years and after more than 60 memorable and groundbreaking events, Bruce Paton “The Beer-Chef” has featured brews from around the world.
Now, the pairing of beer and great food at the soon to be closed Cathedral Hill Hotel, is sadly coming to an end.
Join Bruce as he goes out with a BANG, featuring three of the country’s premier brewers. On Friday September 18, Bruce will have a brewmasters dinner with Vinnie & Natalie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing Company followed by Firestone Walker on Friday October 2nd and the grand finale on Friday October 23rd with Robb Todd of Allagash Brewing Company.
“We have had the pleasure of doing beer dinners with Bruce Paton for many years now,” said Vinnie & Natalie Cilurzo, owners of Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa. “He outdoes himself time after time- his dinners are absolutely the best! Bruce is a master at pairing food with beer, even in the most challenging situations. One of our all-time favorite pairings was blue cheese flan and duck confit with our Double IPA, Pliny the Elder. This beer is very bitter and hoppy and can be a difficult match. But Bruce got this one perfect. Of all the beer and wine dinners we have attended, this one is still the best food and alcoholic beverage pairing we ever had!”
